Red Light Therapy Panel vs Bed: Which Is Right for Your Business?

Red Light Therapy Panel vs Bed: Which Is Right for Your Business?

For a recovery centre, wellness studio or growing equipment brand, the choice is not simply about which system looks more impressive. A panel and a full-body red light bed create different customer experiences, require different spaces and support different business models.

Begin with the service

Start with the experience you want to offer

A red light panel is often the more flexible starting point. It can be used standing, seated or beside a treatment table, and it is usually easier to fit into an existing room. Operators can begin with one panel and later add larger units or linked systems.

A red light bed creates a more dedicated experience. The client lies between upper and lower light surfaces, so broad body coverage is built into the session setup. This format can work well in a private treatment room, a premium membership programme or a flagship recovery space.

Neither format is automatically better. The right decision depends on available space, expected session volume, staff workflow, target customer and the role red light therapy will play in the business.

Commercial applications

Who can build a service around these systems?

Recovery and wellness

Premium recovery centres, wellness studios, biohacking spaces and longevity studios can offer red light sessions alone or as part of a wider recovery routine.

Beauty and rehabilitation

Med spas, aesthetic centres, physiotherapy practices and sports rehabilitation facilities often need equipment that is straightforward for staff to operate.

Fitness and hospitality

Gyms, sports clubs, professional teams, hotels, resorts and high-end spas can use red light equipment to strengthen a premium recovery offering.

Brands and distributors

Importers, private-label wellness brands, franchise groups and distributors may need a coordinated family of panels and beds rather than one isolated model.

A full-body bed creates a different experience

The T1320 surrounds the user with upper and lower light surfaces. The video helps buyers judge its physical scale, operating position and the type of customer experience more clearly than a specification sheet alone.

T1320 example

What the specification means for a commercial buyer

Product footprint1990 x 710 x 586.5 mm

Allow additional room for entry, cleaning and staff access around the equipment.

Illuminated area1908 x 650 mm

Built for broad coverage along the body rather than one small target area.

LED configuration1,320 LEDs / 2,640 chips

Dual-chip construction supports a multi-wavelength lighting system and selectable modes.

ControlsTime, brightness and pulse

Preset values and adjustable ranges support repeatable commercial sessions.

The system combines blue, red and near-infrared light, including 460, 630, 660, 850, 940 and 1020 nm. Available selections can include red, near-infrared and combined operating modes. Buyers should confirm the final LED distribution and control channels for the exact configuration being ordered.

Why we are not calling this a confirmed 10-wavelength system

Only six individual wavelength values are currently specified. A supplier should distinguish between individual wavelengths, LED chip combinations, control channels and operating modes. Clear terminology prevents misunderstandings during sampling and certification.

Daily operation

Controls matter more than a long feature list

For a commercial operator, controls should make sessions easy to repeat. The practical value is not having the largest possible number of settings; it is giving staff a clear routine that can be reproduced consistently.

  • 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% brightness presets, with 0-100% adjustment.
  • Preset session times and adjustment from 1 to 30 minutes.
  • Preset pulse frequencies and adjustment from 1 to 300 Hz.
  • Red, near-infrared and combined operating selections.
  • Fixed programmes, personal modes and optional remote operation.
  • Custom startup logo for private-label projects.

Performance data

Do not compare products by peak irradiance alone

An irradiance figure only becomes useful when its test conditions are known. Ask for the measurement distance, selected wavelength mode, meter used and an irradiance map across the illuminated area. One peak reading cannot show how evenly a full-body system performs.

The same discipline applies to power figures. If a specification lists both rated power and actual operating power, ask the manufacturer to define each value and provide the electrical data required for the destination market.

Before ordering

Installation and operating questions to resolve

A bed is a commercial installation, not simply a larger panel. Confirm local voltage, operating current, plug or hard-wiring requirements and whether a dedicated circuit is needed. Also check product weight, doorway access, ventilation, cleaning procedure and access to controllers, power supplies and LED modules for servicing.

The T1320 is rated IP20, which means it is intended for a dry indoor environment. It should not be presented as a water-resistant product or installed in a wet area without an appropriate room and safety plan.

OEM and ODM development

Where manufacturing support makes a real difference

Commercial buyers often need more than a logo change. A useful OEM/ODM project may include exterior colour, housing details, startup branding, interface language, preset programmes, control logic, packaging, documentation and electrical configurations for the destination market.

A broader product line can coordinate a full-body bed with matching vertical or horizontal panels. This gives distributors and commercial operators several price points and room formats while keeping one consistent brand language.
